Bio:

Sophie Molineux, an exceptional cricketer, made her international debut in March 2018.

On the domestic front, she currently plays for Victoria in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL). Her leadership qualities were recognized when she was named captain of both the Melbourne Renegades and Victoria.

Across all three formats internationally, she has picked up three four-wicket hauls.

In T20 Internationals, Molineux made her debut on March 22, 2018, against India during the India Tri-Nation Women’s T20 Series at Brabourne. As of 2024, she has taken over 30 wickets in T20Is.

In One Day Internationals, she debuted on October 18, 2018, against Pakistan during Australia’s tour of Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur, where she picked one wicket. As of June 2024, she has taken over 20 wickets in the format.

In Tests, she made her debut on July 18, 2019, against England during Australia’s tour of England at Taunton. In her impressive debut, she picked four wickets. As of 2024, she has taken over six wickets in Tests.

In franchise cricket, Molineux plays for the Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

During the 2024 WPL season, Molineux picked up a total of 12 wickets. In the Final between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals, she was named the Player of the Match for her game-changing performance, where she took three wickets in one over, shifting the momentum and led Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the title.

Molineux’s talent has been recognized with several awards. She won the Young Gun Award for WBBL|03, given to the tournament’s best player under 21, and at the 2017 Allan Border Medal ceremony, she received the inaugural Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year Award.
