A right-arm medium pacer and a lower-order batter, Meghna Singh hails from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and has represented India in all three formats of the game. Initially going unsold in the first season of the Women’s Premier League, the Indian quick became the first Indian pacer to claim a four-for at the WPL. She achieved this feat in the second edition of the WPL during a match between her side (Giants) and the Delhi Capitals. Her consistent performances in domestic cricket earned her a maiden call-up to the Indian women’s team ahead of their series against Australia.
Her first appearance for the national side came in the ODI format against Australia in the first ODI of the three-match series. Less than two weeks later, she made her Test debut, picking up two wickets across both innings. Meghna made her T20 debut in the Commonwealth Games against Australia, taking a wicket on her debut. Her inclusion in India’s squad for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand further solidified her status as a rising star in the cricketing world.
Meghna Singh has represented her nation in over 25 appearances, claiming more than 20 wickets across formats. As she embarks on the next phase of her career, there is no doubt that Singh will continue to shine brightly, contributing to the legacy of Indian women’s cricket for years to come.
