Bio:

One of the rising all-rounders who comes from the state of Chandigarh is Amanjot Kaur. The promising batting all-rounder originally played for the Punjab side from 2017 to 2019 before switching to Chandigarh until 2022. Interestingly, she decided to play for Punjab again for the 2022-23 season.

Amanjot got herself in the spotlight when she scored 192 runs in six innings of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy in 2022. With her ability to score crucial runs in tense situations, the lower middle-order batter earned her maiden call-up for the national side against South Africa and the West Indies in a tri-series in the T20 format. Amanjot started displaying her skills from the first match itself, scoring an unbeaten 41 against South Africa in a tricky chase to secure a victory for her side.

Six months later, she made her ODI debut against Bangladesh. The skillful all-rounder displayed her bowling skills this time, picking four wickets in her maiden appearance, which is also her best bowling figure in ODIs as of 2024, though it came in a losing cause. In the inaugural season of the WPL, she was picked by the Mumbai Indians’ franchise for INR 30 lakhs.

In terms of awards, Amanjot Kaur was honoured with the Best Domestic Player award for her outstanding performances in the 2022 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. Her remarkable performances in domestic cricket have not gone unnoticed, earning her accolades and recognition.

The future looks bright for the all-rounder from Punjab, who has over 140 runs and 10 wickets to her name in more than 15 appearances as of 2024.
