Bio:

Harleen Deol is a middle-order-batter who represents Himachal Pradesh in the domestic circuit. A right-handed batter and spinner who can bowl both off-break and leg-break, Harleen is also an exceptional fielder. Her passion for the game developed while playing gully cricket as a child. She was only 13 when she first represented Himachal Pradesh. After Taniya Bhatia, she is the second Chandigarh-born cricket player to represent India. Additionally, she is the second female cricketer from Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), following Sushma Verma, to represent India.

She began making the switch from lower-order batting to opening in a match against Hyderabad when her team quickly lost four wickets for 22 runs. Harleen came in and brought the score to 100. Impressed by her performance, her coach complimented her and informed her that she bats better than the other top-order batters.

Harleen made her international debut against England in an ODI match. She first came into the limelight during the second edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge when she put in a splendid partnership with Smriti Mandhana for the Trailblazers. She was selected for India’s team in January 2020 in preparation for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. During the Twenty20 series against England in July 2021, Harleen performed an incredible catch while dodging the boundary rope, which went viral. This catch received acclaim from cricket legends, including Sachin Tendulkar. Her domestic career includes stints with teams like India A Women, India B Women, India C Women, and in the Women’s Premier League with the Gujarat Giants.
