In their 20 overs, South African batters could just manage 98 runs at the loss of 8 wickets. Seven of which fell to the Indian Spinners. Radha Yadav picked up three wickets, while Deepti Sharma picked up 2 wickets.
Indian while chasing the score of 99, lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay, but Harmanpreet Kaur made sure that the camp did not panic as she scored an unbeaten 34 to see her team through. Harmanpreet Kaur also completed 2000 T20 International runs becoming just the second Indian woman to do so after Mithali Raj. Indian women chased down the score with almost 3 overs to spare.
With the series already won Indian women could make some changes to the playing eleven. Smriti Mandhana has not had a good run in the series so far and would like to get some runs under her belt ahead of the ODI series. Harleen Deol, Anuja Patil, Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy have all been on the bench for all the series, a few of them could get a look into the playing eleven.
South African women’s team has had a torrid time facing the Indian spinners and is most likely to be put to test again in the final T20 of the series. Mignon du Preez after scoring a fine fifty in the first game has been a bit off-color and so has been the whole South African unit. They Would try turning their fortunes around by trig to negotiate the spin threat. Their fielding has also not been up to the mark. They would look forward to winning this game and go into the ODI series with at least a win to their name and some confidence.
Forecast for the game day looks bright with a slight chance of a shower early on in the day, which should not affect the game. A full game is highly anticipated.
