SOBO Mumbai Falcons Win Inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League Title

SOBO Mumbai Falcons were crowned champions of the first-ever WT20 Mumbai Women’s League 2026 after beating Aakash Tigers MWS by 25 runs in the final at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on June 13, 2026. It was a close final where both teams had strong phases, but the Falcons stayed more calm in pressure moments and defended their total with better control.

Batting first, SOBO Mumbai Falcons scored 124/6 in 20 overs. Simran Bano Shaikh played an important knock of 50 off 35 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes and holding the innings together after early pressure. Sarika Milind Koli added 24 runs, while captain Sayali Ganesh Satghare made 27 runs to help the team reach a fighting total. Aakash Tigers bowlers kept things tight in parts of the innings, and Ritika Rammani Yadav took 3 wickets, but they could not stop runs in the final overs.

In reply, Aakash Tigers MWS were all out for 99 in 18.5 overs. Their chase never really settled even though some batters got starts. Humaira Yusuf Zameer Kazi (23), Sejal Kiran Raut (23), and Sanika Vinod Chalke (18) tried to build innings, but regular wickets kept breaking partnerships. The pressure kept rising and they slowly lost control of the chase.

The Falcons bowling attack stayed disciplined and did not give easy runs. Janhvi Rupesh Kate was the best bowler with 3 wickets, while Swara Sudip Jadhav took 2 key wickets. Akshaya Abhijeet Shinde and Nirmiti Dnyaneshwar Rane also picked up important wickets at the right time, which stopped Aakash Tigers from building any big partnership.

Aakash Tigers kept losing wickets again and again, and in the end the rising pressure and required rate ended their hopes. SOBO Mumbai Falcons closed out the match and became the first champions of the league.

The first season of the Mumbai Women’s T20 League 2026 had close and exciting matches between three teams. SOBO Mumbai Falcons started the tournament strongly with a 16-run win over Thane Sky Risers and later beat Aakash Tigers MWS by 7 wickets. They also had one loss against Thane Sky Risers by 33 runs but bounced back strongly with a big 39-run win over Aakash Tigers again. Overall, they finished the league stage with 3 wins from 4 matches and reached the final in strong form.

Aakash Tigers MWS had a mixed season. They lost early to SOBO but later improved with good wins, including an 8-wicket win over Thane Sky Risers and another important victory that helped them reach the final. They finished with 2 wins from 4 matches and stayed competitive throughout the tournament but could not perform well in the final.

Thane Sky Risers also showed some good moments in the season. Their biggest win came against SOBO Mumbai Falcons by 33 runs, but they could not keep consistency. They finished with only 1 win from 4 matches and missed out on the final.
