Indonesia Dominate Malaysia in 7-Wicket 1st T20I Win

Malaysia batted first but found it hard to handle Indonesia’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding. They managed only 86/8 in 20 overs. Captain Mas Elysa scored a determined 46, while the other batters struggled to build partnerships. Dara Paramitha bowled superbly, taking 3 wickets for just 9 runs in 4 overs. Malaysia’s chase never really got going. Winifred Duraisingam was run out for 1, Mas Elysa and Elsa Hunter scored 4 and 8, as Malaysia were reduced to 21/3 in 6.4 overs. Mahirah Izzati Ismail tried to anchor the innings with 37 from 36 balls but didn’t find much acceleration from the other end and was dismissed late in the innings.

Opener Ainna Hamizah Hashim remained unbeaten on 38, off 61, failing to up the scoring. Indonesia’s bowlers kept up the pressure, with Dara Paramitha taking 2 wickets and Ni Ariani claiming 1. Malaysia finished 99/4, 36 runs short. Ni Luh Dewi’s calm 39 earned her Player of the Match.

Indonesia’s win was built on steady batting, smart bowling, and sharp fielding. Their alert run outs and catches showed excellent teamwork, while Paramitha’s bowling and Dewi’s batting were key to their success. Malaysia showed glimpses of fight but could not form strong partnerships or keep up with their opponents.
