Charlotte Edwards, Danni Wyatt-Hodge Among First Inductees into ECB’s T20 Hall of Fame

Charlotte Edwards and Danni Wyatt-Hodge have been named among the inaugural inductees into the newly created T20 Hall of Fame, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to domestic T20 cricket in England and Wales.

The England greats were announced alongside Ravi Bopara and James Vince as the first four players to enter the Hall of Fame ahead of the 2026 T20 Blast season. The initiative has been launched to honour players, coaches and administrators whose performances and influence have left a lasting mark on the domestic T20 game.

The inductees were selected through a combination of votes from an independent expert panel and the public after a 12-player shortlist was announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) earlier this year.

For Edwards, the recognition is another landmark achievement in a cricket career that has spanned generations. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in women’s cricket, Edwards continues to shape the game even after retirement and is currently serving as England Women’s head coach ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Although much of her international success came before the Hall of Fame qualification period, Edwards remained a dominant presence in domestic T20 cricket during the latter stages of her playing career. She captained Southern Vipers to the Women’s Cricket Super League (WSL) title in 2016 during the tournament’s inaugural season and led the side to another final in 2017. Her influence continued after retirement when she guided Southern Vipers to Charlotte Edwards Cup titles as coach in both 2022 and 2023, further strengthening her legacy within the domestic game.

“It’s a really proud moment. Having watched and been a part of a lot of Blast and T20 teams, to be in the Hall of Fame is a real honour,” Edwards said following the announcement. The former England captain also reflected on one of the defining moments of her domestic T20 career — leading Southern Vipers to the Women’s Cricket Super League title in 2016. “A real high was the 2016 KSL win against the Western Storm. First year of the Southern Vipers, I was captain of that team and to win that competition was a real domestic highlight for me,” Edwards added.

Wyatt-Hodge’s induction recognizes her consistency and impact as one of the most dangerous batters in domestic women’s T20 cricket over the last two decades. The experienced England batter finished as the leading run-scorer during the Hall of Fame qualification period with 1,710 runs. The 35-year-old enjoyed significant success with Southern Vipers and Surrey, winning multiple domestic T20 titles while building a reputation for aggressive batting and match-winning performances. Her ability to dominate attacks and perform under pressure made her one of the standout players of the modern domestic era.

Wyatt-Hodge admitted she was overwhelmed by the recognition after spending nearly 18 years in domestic cricket. “I’m chuffed to bits. I still feel a bit speechless. It’s really nice to be recognized for all my hard work over the last 18 years playing domestic cricket,” Wyatt-Hodge said. Despite already achieving major milestones in both domestic and international cricket, Wyatt-Hodge said her desire to improve remains unchanged. “My drive is that I just want to keep getting better, even now at the age of 35 I want to keep improving,” she added.

The introduction of the T20 Hall of Fame comes as domestic T20 cricket in England and Wales continues to grow in popularity and importance. For Edwards and Wyatt-Hodge, the recognition further confirms their place among the most influential figures in the history of women’s domestic T20 cricket.
