In a commanding all-round display at Karachi, Pakistan outclassed Zimbabwe by 67 runs in the second T20I to seal another convincing victory in the ongoing women’s cricket series. The victory was built on aggressive middle-order batting, crucial partnerships, and disciplined bowling performances that never allowed Zimbabwe Women to settle during the chase.

Pakistan Women began their innings cautiously after opting to bat first. Openers Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza focused on rotating strike early against a probing Zimbabwe bowling attack led by Nomvelo Sibanda and Adel Zimunu. The first breakthrough arrived at 27/1 in 4.3 overs when Michelle Mavunga dismissed Gull Feroza for 9 runs off 13 balls, an innings that included a boundary but struggled for momentum. Despite the early wicket, Muneeba Ali looked comfortable at the crease and continued to anchor the innings with smart stroke play. A brief partnership with Ayesha Zafar attempted to stabilize the innings before Ayesha was run out for 4 runs in 6 deliveries at 35/2 in 6.1 overs.

Pakistan’s innings entered a rebuilding phase as Muneeba Ali and Iram Javed rotated strike efficiently. However, Zimbabwe struck again when Iram Javed was dismissed for 5 runs from 6 balls at 46/3 in 7.4 overs, leaving Pakistan Women under slight pressure during the middle overs. The match flow changed dramatically once Eyman Fatima arrived at the crease. Playing one of the finest innings of the match, Eyman counterattacked immediately and shifted the momentum back towards Pakistan. Her unbeaten 79 off just 43 balls included 10 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 183.72, turning a steady innings into a dominant total.

The defining partnership of the innings came between Eyman Fatima and Muneeba Ali. Together they stitched a vital 46-run stand that stabilized Pakistan after early setbacks. Muneeba played the supporting role brilliantly before falling for 36 runs off 33 deliveries at 92/4 in 13.2 overs. Her innings featured four boundaries and helped Pakistan navigate the difficult phase after losing wickets in clusters. From there, Eyman Fatima accelerated aggressively alongside Natalia Pervaiz. Natalia remained unbeaten on 24 runs from 19 balls, striking three boundaries and maintaining a strike rate above 126. The duo added crucial late runs in the death overs, powering Pakistan Women to 170/4 in 20 overs at an impressive run rate of 8.50.

Zimbabwe Women’s bowling effort had mixed moments throughout the innings. Michelle Mavunga was the most effective bowler with figures of 1/38 in four overs despite being expensive during the death overs. Precious Marange and Lindokuhle Mabhero also claimed one wicket each, while Nomvelo Sibanda bowled economically, conceding just 15 runs in her two overs. However, Zimbabwe struggled to contain Pakistan’s acceleration in the final seven overs, especially against Eyman Fatima’s attacking strokeplay.

Chasing 171, Zimbabwe Women required a strong powerplay start but immediately found themselves under pressure from Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Beloved Biza tried to provide early momentum with 11 runs off 9 balls before Fatima Sana struck the first breakthrough at 13/1 in 2.2 overs. Natasha Mtomba attempted to rebuild the innings, but Pakistan’s bowlers maintained tight lines and regularly forced mistakes. Runyararo Pasipanodya managed only 1 run before being dismissed at 14/2 in 3.4 overs by Sadia Iqbal.

Zimbabwe’s innings never truly recovered as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Kelis Ndhlovu played an aggressive cameo of 8 runs from just 4 balls with two boundaries, but Nasra Sandhu quickly removed her at 29/3 in 5.1 overs. Adel Zimunu showed some intent with 12 runs off 10 deliveries before falling to the combination of Natalia Pervaiz and Nasra Sandhu at 47/4 in 7.2 overs. Vimbai Mutungwidu failed to score, and Zimbabwe slipped further into trouble at 47/5 in 7.5 overs.

Michelle Mavunga briefly counterattacked with 9 runs off 7 balls, including two boundaries, but Ayesha Zafar removed her at 61/7 in 11.4 overs after Natasha Mtomba had earlier departed for 10. Captain Nomvelo Sibanda fought hard from one end with an unbeaten 18 off 37 balls, while Kudzai Chigora added a useful 14 not out from 11 deliveries. However, Pakistan’s bowlers consistently controlled the scoring rate and never allowed Zimbabwe to build a substantial partnership. Zimbabwe Women eventually finished on 103/8 in 20 overs.

Pakistan Women’s bowling performance was clinical across all phases. Tuba Hassan delivered the standout spell with 1/17 in four overs at an economy of just 4.25. Nasra Sandhu was equally impactful, picking up 2 wickets for 18 runs in three overs. Fatima Sana, Sadia Iqbal, Ayesha Zafar, and Natalia Pervaiz all chipped in with one wicket each, highlighting Pakistan’s collective bowling effort. The balanced attack, combined with sharp fielding and pressure through the middle overs, ensured a comfortable win for Pakistan Women in this women’s T20I clash.
