The hard-hitting all-rounder Sophie Devine has been appointed captain for both ODI and T20 series against South Africa. Devine has taken the charge as Amy Satterthwaite is on a break to give birth to her first child.

White Ferns have announced their squad for the upcoming One-Day series against South Africa. New Zealand will play against South Africa in 3 ODI and 5 T20 series starting from January 25
The ODI squad announced has a potential debutant Jess Kerr who will play alongside her sister Amelia Kerr. Lea Tahuhu, the pace bowler, is missing from the squad who welcomed her child with Satterthwaite on 13 January
Coach Bob Carter is looking forward to work with the new captain.
“Sophie’s been an outstanding performer for the White Ferns for more than a decade now and we feel she’s ready to step up and lead this team, She has a sound understanding of the game and, most importantly, holds the respect of her fellow players. We believe the leadership can take her game to an even higher level. ” said, Coach Bob.
