Watkins and Mair pick up two wickets each as Hinds clinch victory

Hinds won the toss and chose to bat first, the skipper Jess Watkin gave her side a strong start with an opening four and smashed along the way, making 57 runs in 31 balls, The side had a solid run till first 10 overs and started losing wickets gradually, after Watkins got back to pavilion Cunningham took the control, she built an impactful partnership with the opener Natalie Dodd scoring 45 and 40 runs respectively. Hinds put up a total of 161 runs to chase with the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. The bowlers Peterson and Huddleston picking up a wicket each.

Then came down Auckland Hearts to chase descent total, with the openers Lauren Down and Peterson providing the side a solid start, Although Down was retired hurt and then came Natalie Perkins and smashed some quick boundaries, The skipper Watkin lead the way for the bowlers with a breakthrough with back to back wickets in this innings. Batswomen of the hearts couldn’t do much as the bowlers of the Hinds Dominated them. Hearts were 139-6 by the end of 20 overs. Watkins and Mair picked up two wickets each and Hinds clinched victory by 22 runs while Hearts faced their first loss this season.
