Mackay’s half-century goes in vain as Hinds defeated Magicians by 7 wickets registering the second victory of the season at McLean Park on Monday.
On winning the toss, Magicians shockingly opted to bat on a surface that assisted bowlers. Batting first Mackay scored the majority of runs for the magicians as she scored unbeaten Half-century which included 57 runs included 8 boundaries. In the end, a cameo from Mace-Cochrane helped Magicians to end on 115 for 3 in 20 overs. With the ball, it was Greig who did the damage for Magicians with a couple of wickets.
Chasing an average total of 116, Hinds were off to a flyer. All credits to the kiwis International Jess Watkin, she played a lightning inning of 29 runs in just 16 balls including 3 fours and 1 six. This inning of her made chase easy for the upcoming batters. Once she got out, Dodd and Deventer took the responsibility of chasing and finished it in 16.5 overs. With the bowl for Magicians, it was Sullivan with two wickets tried her best to stop Hinds from Chasing the target.
In the end with the efforts of Watkin and Greig, Hinds gained an easy victory by 7 wickets.
