Nepal, led by skipper Gita Poudel, were up against Australia, led by skipper Courtney Webeck, at Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio, Bengaluru, in the 3rd and final game of the triple header day on 15th November 2025, in the inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind hosted by India and partly in Sri Lanka from 11th to 23rd November 2025.

Nepal, after having suffered a heavy 85-run defeat against India, were keen to get back to winning ways. Australia, on the other hand, starting the clash as favourites, were in search of their first victory in the tournament.
Earlier in the day, India defeated the USA by 10 wickets, and Pakistan thrashed Sri Lanka by 211 runs in the 2nd game.
The Australian skipper Courtney Webeck won the toss and opted to bat first in Bengaluru. The top-order, consisting of the likes of Amelia Hart (21off 27 balls), Courtney Lewis (31 off 16 balls) and Jennifer Parry (30 off 48 balls), displayed a lot of promise.
They kick-started the innings with a 46-run opening stand between Amelia Hart and Courtney Lewis, which was followed by another crucial 38-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, which also took them closer to the 100-run mark. Past the halfway mark, Australia looked poised to post a total around the 180-190 runs mark.
However, Nepal pulled things back brilliantly with a double strike in the 12th over of the innings. The Australian innings eventually lost its rhythm towards the backend of the innings. A clinical display of death bowling from Nepal restricted Australia to 136/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Skipper Courtney Webeck (13* off 13 balls) and Julie Neumann (10* off 12 balls) played their part with the bat for Australia.
Sunita Bhujel (4-1-11-1) was the lone wicket-taker with the ball for Nepal. Laxmi Lama (4-0-23-0) and Susma Tamang (4-0-29-0) were impressive with the ball for their side.
Chasing a target of 137, Nepal lost their skipper, Gita Poudel, on the 3rd ball of the run chase. Susma Tamang joined Binita Soumai at the crease, and the duo led the recovery with a much-needed 75-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Courtney Lewis cleaned up Susma Tamang (22 off 32 balls) in the 11th over of the run chase to provide the crucial 2nd breakthrough for Australia.
Mankeshi Chaudhary (43* off 18 balls) joined Binita Somai (56* off 37 balls) at the crease, and the duo guided their side over the line with an unbeaten 60-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. As a result, Nepal sealed a historic and memorable victory by 8 wickets and 31 balls to spare, handing Australia their 2nd consecutive defeat in the tournament.
Courtney Lewis (4-0-16-1) was the standout performer with the ball for Australia. Binita Somai was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant half-century (56* off 37 balls) to guide her side over the line as Nepal sealed their 2nd victory of the tournament.
