On This Day in 2018, Australia claimed their 4th Women’s T20 World Cup Title

Looking back in the calendar and also the events of the 2018 T20 world cup, today was the day in 2018 when Australia women’s team lifted their 4th trophy and no one doubts the team’s capabilities.

The final was played between England and Australia, at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda. Australia restricted England at a below-par total of just 105 runs- all out in 19.4 overs. Australia came down to chase the total, they lead their ways to the victory quite smoothly, completing the match in 15 overs with the loss of a couple of wickets, winning the final by 8 wickets. Meg Lanning and Ashleigh Gardener helped the team to reach the total easily with the bowlers of the side dominating the opponents. England and Australia have a “frenemy” history or say ashy history, they have locked horns before as well in the finals, where Australia emerged as winners on two occasions in 2012 and 2014.
