From delivering match-winning performances on the field, to delivering punchy one-liners off it, Amanjot Kaur is quickly making a name for herself as one of Indian cricket’s most refreshing personalities.

The 25-year-old all-rounder recently showcased her batting prowess with a maiden ODI half-century, a composed 57 off 56 balls, in a crucial match against Sri Lanka in the Women’s World Cup 2025 opener.
In just 10 innings with both the bat and ball in hand, she already has 10 wickets to her name and amassed 155 runs, including an impressive best of 4/31. But it’s not just her numbers that are making waves; it’s her character, wit, and fearless personality that stand out.
After her heroics, in the post-match presser, Amanjot dropped a dialogue that instantly went viral, “Ghayal Sher ek kadam piche leta hai, ek lambi chalang marne ke liye.” And with a candid smile, she added that she might just become famous for her one-liners.
Even within the team environment, her energy shines through. She revealed that India’s head coach Amol Muzumdar has nicknamed her Wimanjot: “Because I fly everywhere, so that flying was always in my mind, and everybody says to me the same thing – be it running between wickets or saving runs. That partnership was very crucial, and it came out at a very right time.”
That partnership she refers to was the game-changing 103-run stand with senior seasoned, Deepti Sharma. Amanjot acknowledges the value of experience alongside her.
“What mattered the most was, Deepti Sharma being the senior most player, she did her work, and she has always delivered for India in crucial situations, and she has played her role very well every time be it with a ball or the bat. And I knew I had deepti with me and I had to stay at the wicket, I believed that if we both stay for 20 overs, then we can take India to a decent total.”
Her calmness in pressure situations is equally telling of her temperament. “As such there was no pressure, expectations were there from oneself, coaches, players, but somewhat what is meant to happen that happens. God had written this much and that has happened, and it is important that it was written today, and it happened today and was also required today.”
With her growing contributions both with bat and ball, Amanjot Kaur is fast emerging as one of India’s key all-rounders. But what makes her truly special is the way she embraces every moment, whether it’s hitting boundaries, picking up wickets, or making people smile with her natural humor and honesty.
She may be young in her international career, but if one thing is clear, it’s that “Wimanjot” is here to soar.
