The team has displayed a perfect blend of dominance and grit, winning all three of their matches so far in commanding fashion. They kickstarted their campaign with a monumental 178-run victory over Thailand — a result that not only gave them a perfect start but also provided a big boost to their net-run rate right from the opening fixture.

The momentum didn’t stop there, as Bangladesh kept their nerves in a nail-biting 2-wicket win over Ireland. In their third outing, the team registered a solid 34-run triumph against Scotland, making it three wins out of three and firmly claiming the top spot on the table with six points and an impressive Net Run Rate of +1.494.

With the batting firing and the bowlers consistently delivering, Bangladesh is one win away from sealing a spot at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, posing as serious title contenders.

A team high on confidence will ensure that their participation at the global mega event takes place in the swiftest fashion. Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana, speaking after her third consecutive win said she wants her teammates to keep themselves grounded and go about the grind before the big matchups of West Indies and Pakistan.

“We plan to go match-by-match. Yes, we’re looking forward to the game, but we play this game as a team,” Sultana stated. “We need to concentrate on what (good things) we’ve done as a team. It’s going to be a good match, and the way we’ve played in the last few games, we just want to continue with that.”

Skipper Nigar Sultana has led from the front with the bat, amassing a stunning 235 runs from just three innings at a remarkable average of 117.50. Delighted with her team’s all-round effort, she’s equally pleased to see the other batters stepping up and contributing in crucial moments.

“Batting was our visible problem for the last few years. Our bowlers have done well but some of our batting couldn’t click (in the past). But this tournament our batters have played wonderfully well. They’ve been getting runs in the top-order especially, and they’ve been pretty consistent. It was the only unit where we needed to work on, but those improvements are actually showing now.”

Right-arm off-break bowler Jannatul Ferdus has led the charge with the ball with her wizardry spin, currently standing as the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. She has claimed 8 wickets from 3 matches at a brilliant economy of 3.68 and an average of 11.50, with a sensational spell of 5/7 against Thailand being the highlight of her performances.

Up next, Bangladesh will lock horns with Hayley Matthews’ West Indies on 17th April in what promises to be an exciting contest.
