Molly Strano is a renowned right-arm off-break bowler and right-handed batter who was born in Sunshine, Victoria, Australia in 1992. Her cricket career has been distinguished by both noteworthy achievements on the international scene and steady performances in domestic competitions.

Strano, debuted for Victoria in 2021, and in the 2014-15 season finished as the highest wicket-taker in a women’s domestic T20 competition, taking 22 wickets at an average of 12.59.
Strano played for the Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) from the league’s first season in 2015 until 2021. She demonstrated her skill as a top T20 spinner by being the first player to take 100 wickets in the league.
Ahead of the 2021–2022 season, Strano moved bases to Tasmania, and in recent years with Tasmania has only solidified her reputation as one of the most influential cricketers in the state’s history. She helped Tasmania dominate the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) for four seasons, winning three straight titles and capturing more than 65 wickets.
The chance to work with Assistant Coach Dan Marsh and then-Tasmanian Tigers Head Coach Salliann Beams was what drew her to Tasmania. When Strano took 3/39 in the final, she helped the Tigers make history at Ninja Stadium and help Tasmania win its first WNCL title in 2021–2022.
In subsequent seasons, she continued to produce match defining spells and was a key contributor to Tasmania’s second straight championship victory, taking 22 wickets from 13 outings. Strano’s impact went beyond her on-field accomplishments during the third consecutive final, which saw Tasmania join a select few teams to win three WNCL titles in a row.
She got 66 wickets in 44 games throughout her tenure in Tasmanian colours, with her best performance being 5/30, coming in the 2023-24 season, where she finished with 17 wickets from 9 innings.
Beyond numbers, Strano’s passion, guidance, and leadership had a long-lasting effect on Tasmania cricket. An era came to an end when Strano announced her departure from Tasmania after the 2024-25 season. Cricket Tasmania expressed gratitude for her part in influencing the team’s triumph and praised her substantial achievements.
After her four-year stay with Tasmania, she is set for her Victoria return. This transfer is a homecoming for the seasoned off-spinner, who began her domestic career with Victoria in 2011. With the depth of knowledge, she brings from navigating Tasmania to three WNCL victories, her return significantly strengthens Victoria’s team.
