The 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup will be happening this year. It was recently reported that Indore and Raipur will be hosting matches in October, but no official announcements have been made yet about the official dates. The CEO of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Rohit Pandit, was recently asked about this. He only said that they only know that Indore was shortlisted for the World Cup, but they’re still waiting for official correspondence from the BCCI.

While official announcements regarding venues and dates are still awaited, some details about the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 have been confirmed. The tournament will feature eight teams, and six of them have already secured their spots through the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship (ended January 24, 2024).
Qualified Teams So Far
The six teams with spots for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup include India, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. The last two teams will be determined after the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier concludes.

The qualifiers are set to run from April 9 to 19, 2025, and the matches will be hosted by Pakistan. For those looking to bet on cricket in India with 10CRIC and other platforms, there are still no betting odds available for the Qualifiers just yet. However, based on the lineups released, West Indies and Pakistan seem to have strong chances to secure the last two spots.
Venues, Format, Dates
While no confirmation has been made just yet regarding the schedule and venues, it’s still likely that the tournament will use five venues.
- Holkar Stadium, Indore
- Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur
- Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur
- Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
- ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam
Although it’s worth noting that Vizag and Guwahati are also included in the shortlisted cities recently released by BCCI.
The tournament will have a knockout stage, semi-finals, and the final. There will be a total of 31 matches, and some reports claim that the Women’s Cricket World Cup will run from September 29 to October 26, 2025.
When it comes to where to watch the tournament, matches will likely be available on Star Sports in India. Streaming might be with Jio Hotstar as Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema had a merger earlier this year. For other countries like the United Kingdom, Sky Sports will likely cover the matches. Fans in the US and Canada can watch on Willow TV.
The ICC’s official streaming platform will also provide live coverage in regions without local broadcasters.
What Else to Expect in Women’s Cricket
The 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup is definitely an exciting time for female cricket, but there is still more to look forward to. The International Cricket Council (ICC) did announce last year that there would be a Women’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the period 2025–2029. This FTP outlines a packed international calendar with over 400 matches scheduled across all formats.
As part of this FTP, teams like Pakistan, New Zealand, and England will tour new venues. Zimbabwe is scheduled to tour Pakistan in April/May 2026, followed by New Zealand in April 2027 and England in October 2027.
All that considered, especially with the World Cup in October, 2025 is surely a good year for women’s cricket.
