Marie Kelly leads a power-packed performance from The Blaze top-order

Surrey skipper Phoebe Franklin won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Blaze openers Tammy Beaumont and Marie Kelly got their side off to a flying start with a 57-run opening partnership. Kalea Moore got the big scalp of the opposition skipper Marie Kelly (37 off 23 balls) to provide the first breakthrough for Surrey in the 7th over of the innings.

Kathryn Bryce joined Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 59-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side closer to the 120-run mark. The partnership laid a solid platform for a blockbuster finish. Danielle Gregory cleaned up Kathryn Bryce (33 off 26 balls) to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side in the 14th over of the innings.

The Blaze scored 39 runs in their remaining 6 odd overs to finish their innings on 155/5 in their quota of 20 overs. Tammy Beaumont (33 off 34 balls), and Georgie Boyce (21 off 18 balls) were the other performers with the bat for the Blaze. Danielle Gregory (4-0-28-2), Emily Burke (4-0-24-1), and Priyanaz Chatterji (4-0-33-1) were impressive with the ball for Surrey.

Grace Ballinger and Olivia Baker leave Surrey clueless as The Blaze seal big win

Chasing a target of 156, Surrey kept losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result, they were bundled out for 95 with 22 balls to spare. The lack of substantial partnerships cost them big time, resulting in falling 60 runs short of the target.

Jemima Spence (24 off 18 balls), Kalea Moore (21 off 29 balls), and Phoebe Franklin (20 off 18 balls) were the only batters to enter the double digits with the bat for Surrey. The 23-run partnership for the 3rd wicket between Alice Monaghan and Kalea Moore was the highest partnership of the run chase for Surrey.

Olivia Baker (3-0-15-3), and Grace Ballinger (3-0-5-2) were the stand-out performers with the ball for the Blaze. Charley Phillips (2.2-0-14-2), and Josie Groves (3-0-18-1) were impressive with the ball for the Blaze.
