India had another good day on the field as they thrashed Pakistan in the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019. The match which was held at Navy Ground, Welisara, saw Pakistan batting first. After Pakistan were bowled out on a score of 106 runs, India chased down the target and won the game by 7 wickets.

The game started with Pakistan Women’s Emerging Team winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Opener Tuba Hassan showed promise as she batted till the 23rd over, holding one end of the wicket. She also had a partnership of 18 runs with Jaweria Rauf which came in 31 balls. Tuba was caught and bowled by Sushree Dibyadarshini of India when she was on 32(57). Captain Rameen Shamim also played a good knock as she scored 31 runs in 80 balls. With Najiha Alvi 10(40), Shamim made a partnership of 29 runs in 81 balls. But the Indian bowlers got the best of them as Pakistan were all-out in 47 overs scoring 106 runs.

Sushree Dibyadarshini got another 3-wicket haul – it was her second in two matches in this tournament. Captain Devika Vaidya scalped 4 wickets and led the bowling unit of the team.

India started well with openers Yastika Bhatia and Prativa Rana batting sensibly. While Yastika made 17 off 47 balls, Prativa made 13 in 37. The most runs came from the bat of Nuzhat Parween who made 44 runs off 68 balls. Captain Devika Vaidya played the role of a finisher as she hit 12 runs in 23 balls to chase the target. Pakistan bowlers gave India as many as 17 extras, 11 of which came in the form of wides. India made 109 runs to chase the target in 30 overs.
