Bangladesh were last involved in an away white-ball bilateral series against West Indies in January. The visitors suffered a (2-1) series defeat in the ODIs and a whitewash (3-0) in the T20I series. As a result of their series defeat in the ODIs, they missed out on direct qualification for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India and will now have to go through the qualifiers route to book their spot in the mega-event.

The Qualifiers for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 are scheduled to take place in Lahore, Pakistan, from 5th–19th April 2025. Bangladesh becomes the first team to announce their squad for the upcoming qualifiers tournament in Pakistan. A total of six teams, namely, the West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, Bangladesh, and the hosts Pakistan will compete for a tabletop finish, with the finalists set to advance to the much-awaited ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in India, later in the year.

Bangladesh have named a highly experienced squad, with a few promising youngsters thrown into the mix of things in the senior set-up. Rabeya Khan, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Dilara Akter, and Nahida Akter are some of the players to watch out for in the upcoming qualifiers tournament in April.

The defending champions Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand, including the hosts India, have all secured their places in the upcoming edition of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup as they filled up the top five spots in the points table of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-2025.
