The wheels came off Nepal after a promising start from their opening batter Samjhana Khadka (23 off 25 balls) and Mamta Chaudhary, with the pair scoring at just over 6 runs an over in the powerplay en route to their 31-run opening partnership.
Impactful partnerships between skipper Indu Barma and Puja Mahato (18 off 18 balls) worth 37 for the 3rd wicket, followed by another crucial 29-run partnership for the 4th wicket between skipper Indu Barma (30 off 32 balls) and Kabita Joshi (14 off 15 balls) kept the run chase alive for Nepal.
A mini collapse saw them losing their next four wickets for just 25 runs after they were within reach at 100/4 in the 17th over of the run chase. Sita Rana Magar (10 off 6 balls) was the only other Nepal batter to enter the double digits in the run chase.
