Ahead of the 2025 WPL season, the franchises will next participate in a mini-auction, with the date yet to be confirmed. At this auction, teams will finalize their squads of 18 players, including 6 overseas slots. Mumbai Indians have 4 slots (2.65 Cr) available, Delhi Capitals 4 (2.50 Cr), Royal Challengers Bengaluru 4 (3.25 Cr), UP Warriorz 3 (3.90 Cr), and Gujarat Giants 4 (4.40 Cr), to be filled through the mini-auction.
In its two seasons so far, the WPL has crowned a new champion each year. The inaugural champions, Mumbai Indians, lost their Eliminator last season, while Delhi Capitals lost their second straight Final, this time to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who made a remarkable comeback after finishing 4th in the first season. Meanwhile, UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants are still striving to showcase their best performances.
