The right-handed batter achieved this remarkable milestone during the third T20I between Sri Lanka and West Indies, which was also a series decider that the Windies won by six wickets. She was just four runs shy of the milestone before this match. Stafanie played a crucial role in their victory over Sri Lanka, scoring 33 off 30 balls while opening the innings. Sri Lanka had whitewashed the Windies 3-0 in the ODI series, but the Windies finished the T20I series on a positive note, winning it 2-1.

Stafanie Taylor became the youngest batter to achieve this feat and the fourth overall, following Charlotte Edwards from England, India’s Mithali Raj, and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates.

The World Cup-winning captain from the Windies has now played 281 matches, including 160 ODIs and the rest in T20Is. She has accumulated 9074 runs, which includes 63 half-centuries across limited-over formats, with 41 of them in the 50-over format where she also has seven centuries to her name.

Stafanie Taylor was just 19 years old when she completed her first 1000 runs in international cricket. Her defining moment came in 2016 when she led West Indies to the Women’s World T20 title. In July 2021, she was also named Player of the Month when she completed 8000 runs in international cricket during a home series against Pakistan, achieving this milestone in her 226th innings.

It took her 47 innings to score her next 1000 runs and crossed the 9000-run mark in international cricket. The Windies batter will now aim to help her side clinch the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, as they last won a World Cup in 2016 with Stafanie Taylor herself as the skipper.
