On Thursday, 27 June 2024, Hobart Hurricanes announced that 30-year-old Nicola Carey is extending her stay with them in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) by signing a one-year deal.
Carey has been part of the Hurricanes since the 2019 season and expressed her excitement to return to the Purple Army for another season.
“I’ve loved my time with the Hurricanes over the last few years, and I’m looking forward to another season in purple!” stated Carey.
In her WBBL career, Carey has featured in 125 matches, scoring 1433 runs at an average of 18.37, taking 125 wickets (sixth in the overall wicket-taking tally), and making 42 catches.
