Pakistan team commence their training camp under new head coach Muhammad Wasim ahead of the upcoming women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan Women’s team led by skipper Nida Dar were last involved in the white-ball series that included a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. England whitewashed Pakistan (3-0) in the T20I series. England also clinched the ODI series (2-0) in May earlier this year.

We are getting closer to the ACC Women’s Asia Cup that will be played in the T20 format. The tournament is set to be hosted by Sri Lanka from 19th July 2024 to 28th July 2024. A women’s national selection committee has organised a four-day training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi from 26th June 2024. The T20 practice games will be played at the Moin Khan Academy on 27th and 29th June 2024. A total of 28 players have been invited for the camp. Abdur Rehman will be the spin bowling coach and Junaid Khan will be the assistant coach.

Aliya Riaz, Anoosha Nasir, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Dua Majid, Eyman Fatima, Fatima Sana, Gull Feroza, Humna Bilal, Iram Javed, Maham Manzoor, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Quratulain, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan, Yusra Amir, Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhtar.

Pakistan are placed in group A alongside India, Nepal, and UAE. Pakistan will kickstart their Asia Cup campaign against India on 19th July 2024.
