The Victorian Women’s cricket team led by a wicket-keeper captain Nicole Faltum had a good campaign in the last edition of the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL). They finished third on the points table with 32 points from 12 games in the league stages of the tournament.

The former Australian skipper Meg Lanning was the leading run-scorer for her side and the 2nd highest run-scorer of the tournament with 492 runs to her name at an impressive strike rate of 112.58 and a humongous average of 82 in 10 innings. Her tally of runs included six half-centuries to her name.

As far as the bowling department is concerned, the 26-year-old left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux was the leading wicket-taker for Victoria with 17 wickets to her name at an average of 14.47 and an impressive economy of 4.34 in six innings for her side last season. The Nicole Faltum-led side made a sensational bounce back by winning seven out of the last eight matches of their campaign including a six-match winning streak.

Note: Sasha Moloney and Hasrat Gill are the two new additions to the squad. Rhiann O’Donnell and Samantha Bates have been released from the squad.
