The Australian women’s team led by skipper Alyssa Healy toured Bangladesh for a limited-overs series that included a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series. Australia swept past the ODI (3-0) and the T20I series (3-0) to complete a dominating show on their maiden tour to Bangladesh.

The ICC Women’s T20I World Cup will also be hosted by Bangladesh and is just a few months away. The recently concluded bilateral series was a crucial part of the preparations for the big ICC event later in the year. Cricket Australia has recently announced a 17-member list as a part of the central contracts for the 2024-25 season ahead of the ICC Women’s T20I World Cup in Bangladesh, later this year.

Cricket Australia contracted players for the 2024-25 season

Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Heather Graham, Grace Harris, Alyssa Healy, Jessica Jonassen, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Tayla Vlaeminck, and Georgia Wareham.

A few notable inclusions in the central contract include the return of the 26-year-old left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux and the 25-year-old speedster from Victoria also returns to the central contract list after a long absence from international cricket courtesy of a stress fracture in her navicular bone (foot), multiple ACL ruptures and a dislocated shoulder en route to her journey to return to international cricket.

The Australian women’s team led by skipper Alyssa Healy will be hosting New Zealand for a three-match T20I series in September 2024.
