Charlotte Edwards, former captain of England Women, generally regarded as the best player of her country, believes that Australia’s Ellyse Perry is going to be the greatest player in history of women’s cricket. Already rating her the best women’s cricketer of all times, she expects Perry to raise the bar ever higher in the times to come.
“I loved playing against her and she’s definitely improved a lot since I stopped playing,” Edwards said. “She was mainly a bowler in my career and now we see what an unbelievable all-rounder she is and the greatest female player we’re ever going to see. And she’s getting better and better with age, she’s only 28, it’s quite scary really to think what she can achieve in the next few years,” she added.
She further said that great players always have the desire to do better every time they step out onto the ground and that the Australia’s all-rounder shows this sense of competitiveness every single time during pre-match warm-ups and gives the same importance to the last game of the series as was given to the first.
