BCCI invites bids to secure Title Sponsorship Rights for WPL

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has invited bids for the Title sponsors of the maiden Women’s Premier League for the period of 2023-2027. The BCCI has been raking in the riches after the landmark Rs. 4,669.9 Crores it made after bidders acquired the right to own five franchises and made Rs. 951 Crores alone in the broadcasting rights which has only sent positive signs about this upcoming league that has become the talk of the town for the right reasons.

In a statement released by the BCCI about the title sponsorship rights, it was quoted, “The BCCI invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the title sponsorship rights for Women’s Premier League Seasons 2023-2027. The detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, the process for submissions of bids, rights and obligations of the title sponsor, etc. are contained in the ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP) which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 1,00,000. The procedure to procure the RFP documents is enlisted in Annexure A to this notice. The RFP will be available for purchase till February 9, 2023.

It is imperative to note that any interested bidder will have to submit a bid to purchase the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document but only those bidders who satisfy the eligibility criteria in the ITT besides the other terms and conditions will be eligible and most importantly, the BCCI has the ultimate discretion to cancel or amend the bidding process. The process for obtaining the RFP papers is detailed in Annexure A to this notice. The RFP will be available until February 9, 2023. Interested parties should email the details of their payment for the RFP purchase to [email protected], following the procedure outlined in Annexure A. It is clarified that the RFP documents will be released only when payment of the non-refundable RFP fee has been confirmed.
