Indian Women’s Domestic Cricket Calendar for 2022-23 season Announced

The BCCI has announced the domestic schedule for the 2022-23 season. Domestic cricket this season gets a lot better with more tournaments added for the Under-19 and Senior Women’s categories. There also is an Under-16 tournament scheduled that’ll commence later this year.

Indian cricketer, Smriti Mandhana in her presser quoted, “U16 is a significant tournament. I am happy that it has started. A lot of girls in the age group have started playing. This will help them. And this is also important for girls playing in the U19 World Cup.”

The expansion of women’s cricket at the domestic level was being awaited and to see it scheduled to happen is an excellent piece of news for Indian cricket as a whole. There are a few grassroots cricket tournaments on hold post covid and what better time than now to get it all started as BCCI introduces and expands women’s cricket in India.
