Fairbreak XI lead the series 1-0 after beating Netherlands in the first T20 by 35 runs. Batting first, Fairbreak XI posted 148/4 in 20 overs, thanks to Kerry-Anne Tomlinson, who scored an unbeaten 62. For Netherlands, Frederique Overdijk was the lone wicket-taker as she picked up two wickets. In reply, the hosts were restricted to 113/8 in 20 overs. Babette de Leede’s 70 went in vain as her team fell short of 35 runs in the end. For Fairbreak XI, Gunjan Shukla, Mariko Hill, and Laura Bailey struck with two scalps each.

Players to watch out for

Mariko Hill: 

The Hong Kong all-rounder made useful contributions with both bat and ball for Fairbreak XI in the first T20 against Netherlands. She opened the batting and mustered 12 off 13, including a couple of boundaries. With the ball, the right arm seamer picked up 18/2 in three overs.

Kerry-Anne Tomlinson: 

The right-handed middle order batter of Fairbreak XI top scored with an undefeated 62 off 46 in the first T20 against Netherlands. She smashed seven boundaries in her entertaining knock and helped her side post a competitive score of 148 in 20 overs. In the process, she stitched a 69-run crucial partnership with Yasmin Daswani for the third wicket.

Frederique Overdijk: 

The right arm medium pace bowler of Netherlands was the only successful bowler in the first T20 against Fairbreak XI. She scalped 32/2 in four overs, picking both the wickets in the 16th over of the innings. Apart from her bowling, she is more than a handy right-handed middle order batter.

Babette de Leede: 

The right-handed opening batter and wicket-keeper of Netherlands led the run chase from the front in the first T20 against Fairbreak XI. She muscled 70 runs off 64 balls, including eight boundaries. She played right through the 20 overs and got out only on the last ball of the innings.

Pitch

This will be the second match of the tournament at this venue. In the last match, more than 250 runs were scored and 12 wickets fell in the process. The wicket looks good for batting as the conditions are also favourable for the batters.  On the other hand, the bowlers will have to make good use of the new ball to get early wickets and apply pressure on the batting team.

The weather is expected to be warm with intervals of clouds and sun. The maximum temperature attained during the day could be 25 degrees Celsius. The expected cloud cover will be 62 percent with just two percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the east-southeast.
