Anushka Sharma’s shoot begins with “Chakda Xpress”, a biopic of one of the most celebrated cricketers, Jhulan Goswami. Chakda Xpress is not some ordinary movie, it is the story of an extraordinary woman. A woman who dreamt of playing the sport every other child dreams of playing. The Anushka Sharma starrer film is directed by Prosit Roy and is a production collaboration with her brother, Karnesh Sharma. The film will release on an OTT platform and will be shot in India and UK.

Chakda Xpress is an ode to one of the fastest bowlers to have ever played women’s cricket and the record holder for the highest number of wickets globally. Goswami has also led the Indian national team and in 2018, an Indian postage stamp was issued in honour of this legend. It is never easy to portray a sportsperson and work on details that make biopics look perfect. And Anushka Sharma has been preparing for months to make sure that the audience and fans truly understand the life story of Jhulan Goswami.
