The 2022 World Cup continues to give some outstanding fielding efforts as Australia’s Beth Mooney took a stunning one-hander against West Indies in the first Semi-Final of the 2022 World Cup. Rashada Williams who was struggling to score her first run hit a pull shot to the square leg region to score her first run. Beth Mooney standing on a square leg jumped to her right and caught a one-handed stunned.
Australia had posted a magnificent 305 for 3 in 45 overs. The rain delayed the start resulting in cutting the overs. Openers Racheal Haynes and Allyssa Healy had a record-breaking partnership of 216. Healy scored a fabulous 129. and Haynes scored a supportive 85 setting up Australia for a big total. Mooney finished the innings in style scoring 43 of 31 taking Australia past 300.

West Indies openers came to chase a tough score. Deandra Dottin and Rashada Williams opened the batting and tried to score early runs. Dottin looked good and tried to adjust to wicket as early as possible. Williams in the other hand was struggling to open the account. After facing 9 dot balls, Williams tried to score a boundary over the mid-wicket region through a pull shot. Beth Mooney, who was standing in the square leg caught a magnificent one-handed catch. Ian Smith on commentary could not believe the stunning effort as he said, “That can’t keep happening, surely”. West Indies lost their wicket with 12 on the board thanks to Beth Mooney. Even Megan Schutt, the bowler couldn’t believe that the catch was taken. This have Australia a great start in the defense which ultimately resulted in them winning the match by 157 runs as they bundled out West Indies for 148.
