Sophie Devine Occupies Top Spot in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings

The MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings list was updated on 7th September 2021. The changes saw Sophie Devine from New Zealand join England’s Natalie Sciver at the No.1 spot in the all-rounder’s list.

The White Ferns congratulated Devine on her performance against the English team and acquiring the top seat on the chart.
At the 2nd T20I of the series against England at Hove, Devine scored 50 Runs and also picked 2 wickets which enabled her to move one place up the ranks to the first position.

Other star players in the all-rounder’s list are India’s Deepti Sharma in the 4th place, Australia’s Ellyse Perry in the 5th place, and West Indies’ Hayley Matthews in the 6th place while Stafanie Taylor dropped to No.7.
The batting rankings were topped by India’s young prodigy Shafali Verma while Smriti Mandhana took 3rd place. South Africa’s Lizelle Lee jumped up three spots and landed in the 8th position. Devine is well-placed 5th on the chart.
In the bowling chart, England’s Sophie Ecclestone took the top seat while Australia’s Megan Schutt and Jess Jonassen also moved up the ranks to acquire 2nd and 4th place respectively. Hayley Matthews moved up seven places to enter the Top 15 of the bowling ranks.
