Hobart Hurricanes to move into a new home ground in WBBL05

The Hobart Hurricanes is all set to call Invermay Park as their new home ground due to resurfacing works scheduled at the University of Tasmania Stadium.

Cricket Tasmania Chief Executive, Nick Cummins said, “We’re confident Invermay Park is the right fit and we’ll work in collaboration with our great partners at the City of Launceston to put on a showcase event that hopefully draws a big crowd.”

Also, Hurricanes have announced that Burnie will host its WBBL side’s first two home matches of their campaign. Cummins added, “The Burnie City Council have been great to work with in sharing our vision of being Tasmania’s team, the success of last year is a great foundation with which we will build upon come October.”

Burnie City Council Mayor, Steve Kons said he was excited that Women’s Big Bash is coming back to Burnie for a second season.
