What are Techniques used by sportspersons to practice Transpersonal Therapy?

In this fast-paced world of today when people do not have time to stand and stare, it is often seen that they tend to ignore some of the trivial issues that have some kind of effect on their health. Though these issues could be trivial, if they crop up on a regular basis, then it is time for some check. How do you know whether you are facing some discomfort?

In order to answer this, a concept, though old, has gained a lot of importance these days. It is “transpersonal therapy”. Transpersonal therapy is a kind of therapy that focuses on the health of a person’s spirit, which is beyond body and mind. Put differently, transpersonal means going beyond personal. A person who treats those suffering from specific disorders using transpersonal therapy is called a transpersonal therapist.

So, what are the different techniques that are used by a transpersonal therapist? There are several techniques that blend Western and Eastern philosophy, religions, cultures, mysticism, behaviorism, and cognitive psychology. Some of them are:

Meditation and Mindfulness – Meditation is one of the simplest techniques in transpersonal therapy. It involves sitting still, focusing on breathing, and creating a calm environment, ensuring physical relaxation, improving psychological balance, coping with illness, and enhancing overall health and well-being. Through meditation, there is an interaction between mind and body. It is important to note that meditation is a practice while mindfulness is a quality. In order to enjoy a good way of living, the quality of mindfulness can be cultivated through the practice of meditation.

Making a note of your problems and Visualization Writing down the things that cause stress is a good way to not only identify the problems but also determine which of them require your focus. There is a chance that while you write down your worries your emotions would have a free fall, but getting those feelings out can actually help you get over the pain points. Additionally, you can use the visualization technique, in which you sit in a comfortable position, see your problems right in front of your eyes, and develop mental strength to combat those.

Music – There is seldom any doubt that music is one of the best stress busters. Singing, dancing, or simply listening to your favorite music can do wonders.

Hypnotherapy – This is carried out by the therapist for you, wherein, you will be guided to unmask any hidden potentials or problems that are holding you back.

Though the list of transpersonal therapy techniques is exhaustive, here are a few of them that can help you get started. If you are able to master these techniques then there is no way you can stop yourself from leading a meaningful life.
