Ellyse Perry and rugby player Matt Toomua end their four-year marriage

In a recent turn of events, it is being reported that Ellyse Perry and her husband Matt Toomua have decided to part their ways. The speculations were confirmed by the stars on their social media handles.

The couple was popular worldwide due to its sporting credentials. Their alliance lasted for a duration of five years. The joint statement issued by the couple read that “It’s with the greatest of respect for one another that we decided to separate earlier this year”.

Further, it said: “We felt this was the right course of action and is in the best interests of each other and our current lives. This is something that has evolved and is a mutual decision”.

Finally, the couple commented that “Throughout our relationship, we have remained private and we ask that our space and privacy continue to be respected during this difficult time for both of us”.

It has to be noted that Perry and Toomua were married in 2015 and following the same year, Perry moved her base to Melbourne. Interestingly, the couple had met at Sydney Airport in 2012. Their first public appearance was at the 2013 John Eales Medal awards. It was not a year later that the couple announced their engagement to the public. Perry as of now is busy with a hamstring injury that she suffered back in the early part of the year while playing the Women’s T20 World cup.

Importantly, she had gone through a surgery a month back. Both the partners are famous personalities in the sporting world as Perry has represented Australia in both cricket and football world cups. She is known as one of the finest all-rounders in the world. Matt, on the other hand, plays rugby for Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby. Their separation is bound to make some headlines in media throughout the globe.
