Kaur’s journey to redemption began in the recently concluded 3rd edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she earned the accolade of being named as the Emerging Player of the Tournament, courtesy of her all-round performances, scoring 128 runs at a strike rate of 133.33 and an impressive average of 42.66 in seven innings with the bat, representing the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians.

She also picked up five wickets at an average of 26.80 and an economy of 7.88 in 8 innings with the ball for her side in the tournament, creating an all-round impact, to go along with her sensational efforts on the field. She was one of Mumbai Indians silent heroes as they clinched their 2nd title in three years.

Notably, she also featured in the recently revealed BCCI Annual Contracts 2024-2025 under the C Category. She was also picked in Team D for the 2024-25 Senior Women’s Multi-Day Challenger Trophy and named as the vice-captain of the side led by skipper Sneh Rana. The Sneh Rana-led side was up against Team C led by skipper Jemimah Rodrigues.

Team C declared their innings on 405/9 in 85 overs after Jemimah Rodrigues won the toss and opted to bat first. Gongadi Trisha (93 off 137 balls), followed by twin centuries from Dhara Gujjar (109 off 240 balls), and Amanjot Kaur (110 off 135 balls) led a spirited response from Team D. They were eventually bundled out for 496 in 149.5 overs, giving them a 91-run lead in the 1st innings. She joined Dhara Gujjar at the crease on the departure of Rana (28 off 90 balls) in the 86th over of the innings, trailing Team C by 149 runs to be precise.

Amanjot Kaur ensured that her side capitalised on the platform laid by the top order, by stitching a vital 107-run partnership for the 6th wicket, surpassing the 360-run mark, taking them closer to the lead. Another decisive 74-run stand for the 7th wicket between Kashvee Gautam and Amanjot Kaur completely wiped off the deficit and took them into a slender 39-run lead, before she was dismissed by Tanusree Sarkar in the 134th over of the innings.

She completed a well-crafted century (110 off 135 balls), scoring at a strike rate of 81.48 before getting dismissed. Her tally of runs included as many as 16 boundaries to her name, impressing everyone with her confident stroke play en route to her match-defining innings.

Her calm and composed innings under pressure have ensured that she has pushed her name into the mix amongst the other potential candidates eyeing a recall to the Senior Indian women’s team set-up, especially with the ICC event of the year, the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, 2025, coming up in a few months’ time, scheduled to be hosted by India in September–October 2025.
