Dominant India, following their 2-1 Twenty20 International (T20I) series win, also secured the One Day International (ODI) series against West Indies with back-to-back wins and a game still to go. The 3rd and final ODI will be played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, on the 27th of December 2024, at 9:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).
India followed up their dominant 211-run win in the ODI series opener with another commanding performance in the 2nd ODI. Smriti Mandhana (53) and Pratika Rawal (76) laid a solid foundation with a 110-run opening stand, which was further built upon by Harleen Deol’s maiden century (115) and Jemimah Rodrigues’ valuable 52. Their efforts propelled India to their joint-highest ODI total of 358. In reply, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews fought valiantly with a record 7th ODI century but received little support from the other end, being bowled out for 243, handing India a convincing 115-run win.

Pratika Rawal
The 24-year-old top-order batter made her international debut in this series opener, scoring 40 runs, and followed up with a confident knock of 76 runs, while also returning figures of 2/37 (5). Notably, Pratika amassed 411 runs, at an average of 68.50, from 7 One Dayers in a domestic competition last season. She has a lot of domestic cricket experience and can be counted on for another good score.
Priya Mishra
The 20-year-old spinner has secured 11 wickets from 6 ODIs, including the best of 3/49, maintaining an economy rate of 5.69. In a domestic One Day competition last season, Priya took 23 wickets, at an average of 9.86 and an economy rate of 3.86, from just 8 outings, and has carried this success into international cricket. Her returns in this series are 2/22 and 3/49, and she can be trusted for wickets.
Shemaine Campbelle
The 32-year-old middle-order batter has accumulated 1,645 runs from 101 ODI innings, at an average of 19.81, with a highest score of 105. Shemaine has had a notable series so far, managing scores of 13, 29*, and 17 in the T20Is, and 21 and 38 in the ODIs. She has been among the runs, consistently managing starts, and should be backed to follow up with a big knock, leading the scoring.
Zaida James
The 20-year-old left-arm spinner has taken 10 wickets from 8 ODI innings, at an economy rate of 5.09, and added 87 runs from 12 outings. Emerging through underage cricket, Zaida is a highly promising talent, glimpses of which have been on display during A tours and this series. She produced a fifer in the 1st ODI and chipped in with a wicker and 25 runs in the 2nd. She can be relied upon for the goods.
Pitch:
The Kotambi Stadium wicket offers a good batting deck, with an average score in the 290s. However, the wicket has just enough in it for bowlers, both pacers and spinners, to change the course of the game, especially when bowling second.
Weather:
Expect a short rain interruption, if the skies don’t clear, early in the game, but a complete game is likely with a clear, bright forecast otherwise. The temperature will hover around 28°C, with light winds and 66% humidity.
