The Sydney Thunder have confirmed the re-signing of Sienna Eve and Ella Briscoe for the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season, reinforcing their commitment to building a strong and energized squad. Both players were part of the Thunder’s campaign last year and will once again don the Lime Green, aiming to help the team achieve new heights in the WBBL.

Sienna Eve has earned recognition as a reliable presence in the Thunder lineup. Her dynamic performances, whether in the field, with the bat, or ball, have showcased her potential as a rising star in Australian women’s cricket. Eve’s dedication and on-field presence have endeared her to Thunder fans, making her return a welcome boost for the team’s ambitions this season.
Ella Briscoe, another talented young player, made important contributions during her last stint with the Thunder. Notably, in the 2024 T20 Spring Challenge, she recorded 58 runs and a wicket. Known for her athletic fielding and developing skills with the bat, Briscoe’s growth over recent seasons has been impressive. Her re-signing signals the Thunder’s emphasis on nurturing emerging talent and creating a balanced squad with both experience and youth.
“They’re pretty quiet, but once you get them out of their shell, they’re quite funny characters,” keeper-batter Tahlia Wilson commented on the pair. “I’m lucky enough to play club cricket with Ella, so I’ve seen her grow from a little girl who wouldn’t say much to now having a really big impact in the team.
“Both of them last year having that experience of Big Bash has only made them better as cricketers and people as well. Ella can hit a very big ball, as we saw in the Spring Challenge last year, and Sienna’s very crafty with her left arm also.”
These signings highlight Sydney Thunder’s focus on continuity and team culture. By retaining promising players like Eve and Briscoe, the club aims to strengthen its squad depth ahead of WBBL11. Thunder supporters will be eager to see how these young cricketers continue to evolve and contribute to the team’s success in the fiercely contested league.
As preparations for the season intensify, both Sienna Eve and Ella Briscoe are expected to play key roles in Sydney Thunder’s campaign. Their energy, skill, and ambition underscore the team’s objectives, as they strive to compete for the WBBL title and inspire the next generation of female cricketers.
Retaining homegrown talents not only boosts the squad’s stability but also sets a positive example for younger players aspiring to make their mark in professional cricket. Both Eve and Briscoe represent the hard work and determination required to succeed at the top level, and their continued presence in the side will be invaluable as the Thunder aim to blend youthful enthusiasm with experienced guidance.
