Players to watch out:

Grace Harris

The 30-year-old all-rounder has scored 2355 runs, at a strike rate of 128.40, from 108 WBBL outings. With the ball, she has picked up 64 wickets from 84 innings, including respective bests of 136* and 4/15. Grace had a sensational start to her campaign this summer, notching up scores of 49, 136*, and 39 in her first 3 outings, but since has struggled to get going. The Heat will bank on her to rediscover her form as the tournament’s business end nears.

Courtney Sippel

The 22-year-old pacer has claimed 38 wickets, maintaining an economy rate of 7.50, from 40 innings and has registered the best of 4/27. Courtney has had another impressive run in the WBBL, this time around scalping 10 wickets from 9 games. Following an expensive outing in the season opener, Courtney produced figures of 4/27 and 2/23 in her next couple of games, and since has been wicketless in 4 games. However, she has maintained her economy rate in most of her outings.

Heather Graham

The 27-year-old all-rounder has accumulated 1388 runs and bagged 121 wickets from 122 WBBL appearances, including respective bests of 50 and 3/15. Heather didn’t have the best of starts to her campaign, failing to even manage starts, while being wicketless and expensive with the ball. However, she has managed a good comeback, registering batting scores of 22 and 36 while finishing with bowling figures of 3/36 and 3/18 in her recent couple of outings.

Amy Smith

The 18-year-old leg-spinner has picked up 22 wickets, including the best of 3/20, from 39 innings, maintaining an economy rate of 7.02. Amy has sent down just 17 overs this season, and following a lean patch, she’s back among wickets, returning figures of 3/20 in her most recent outing. It’s a timely return to form for Amy, and the Hurricanes will rely on her to capitalize on this momentum with 5 league games still to be played.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at the Allan Border Field make up a well-balanced wicket that offers a fair contest between bat and ball. While batters enjoy the hardness of the pitch, bowlers too remain in the game big time, especially, the pacers.

Weather:

It’ll be a warm sunny day at the Allan Border Field with the temperature forecasted to hover around 30°C with moderate winds and a humidity level of 61%. With no rain on the radar, we are in for a complete game of cricket.
