Squads:

Adelaide Strikers – Georgia Adams, Jemma Barsby, Danielle Gibson, Katie Mack, Tahlia McGrath (C), Anesu Mushangwe, Courtney Neale, Annie O’Neil, Bridget Patterson, Madeline Penna, Megan Schutt, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Ella Wilson, Laura Wolvaardt

Players to watch out:

Laura Wolvaardt

The 24-year-old batter has accumulated 1387 runs, averaging 22.73, from 70 outings and has registered the best of an unbeaten 75. Laura kicked off her season with scores of 47 and 35*, however, has failed to make the most of the momentum. Following her sluggish start, Laura in her recent couple of outings has registered scores of 28 and 12, and it’ll be expected of her to capitalize on her starts and rediscover her form with a lot of cricket still to be played this season.

Amanda-Jade Wellington

The 26-year-old leg-spinner is the 3rd highest wicket-taker in the WBBL history, with 140 scalps to her name off 125 innings. Amanda has chipped in with the bat as well, scoring 578 runs from 65 outings. Amanda has had another outstanding run in the competition this summer; though she initially went wicketless in a couple of games, she staged a quick comeback and has gone on to produce figures of 3/14, 2/24, and 3/25 in successive games only recently.

Tahlia Wilson

The 24-year-old keeper-batter, averaging 22.73, has added 683 runs to her tally from 39 outings. Tahlia rewrote her career best this season with a scintillating 54-ball 83* against the Heat. With a string of starts, Tahlia kicked off her season and capitalized on them, notching up scores of 45* and 83* in back-to-back outings. Tahlia hasn’t scored many since but has been striking the ball well and will be banked on to extend her stays in the middle.

Hannah Darlington

The 21-year-old all-rounder has picked up 74 wickets from 53 outings, maintaining an economy rate of 5.10, and has chipped in with the bat, scoring 205 runs in 35 innings. A few games into the season, Hannah’s campaign got back on track, so much so that she’s claimed 15 wickets, including a 5-fer and a 4-fer, in her previous 5 outings. She’s bowling at her very best, and it’ll be hoped for her to carry forward this momentum into the knockouts.

Pitch:

The Karen Rolton Oval dishes a well-balanced center wicket that has been favorable to both batters and bowlers. The par score at the venue is around 140s, and the characteristics of the pitch are such that spinners play a crucial role in any team’s success.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day to be at the Karen Rolton Oval for some cricket with no rain interruptions and partly cloudy overhead. The temperature is forecasted to hover around 20°C, with moderate winds and a humidity level of 63%.
