Perry has played a total of 111 matches for the Sixers, scoring 3769 at an incredible average of 48.94. She also has scored 2 centuries for the Sixers, scoring those massive knocks against Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers. Along with her batting, Perry has taken 51 total wickets for the Sydney side.

The 2018/19 season was the best ever season personally for Perry as she racked up a total of 778 runs from 16 innings at an average of 86.44 and a strike rate of 121.37. Both of her centuries were scored this season. She was quite unfortunate to not lift the trophy that season, Sixers lost the final in a closely contested match. There was nothing much to differentiate the two sides.

Perry has captained the Sixers to two successful campaigns, after being victorious in the back-to-back campaigns in the second and third seasons of the tournament. Perry is Sydney Sixers’ top run-scorer.

After re-signing, Perry said,”It’s a lovely feeling to be able to continue at the Sixers for another two WBBL seasons, The club has been a special part of my career for almost a decade and I am proud of what we have achieved, both on and off the field, especially in terms of connecting with and inspiring lots of girls and boys to be involved in the game.”

Perry further said that the Sydney derby at the famous Sydney Cricket Ground scheduled on 26th November 2023, is a significant step forward and overall a great reflection of the ever-growing women’s game, and more so with the fact that the fans will be able to watch these teams at World Class Stadium.

Chris Botherway, New South Wales general manager for the Big Bash Leagues said that “Ellyse is very much a part of the fabric of the Sydney Sixers and it’s great to have her back on board for the next two seasons. She is a leader for the club, both on and off the field, and someone who obviously has an amazing connection with our members and fans. We are looking forward to seeing her lead the club to more success in WBBL|09.”

The first match of the upcoming season will be played by the Sydney Sixers, as they will face Melbourne Stars in Sydney on 19th October 2023
