Batting first, Sydney Sixers posted a formidable score of 159-2 in 20 overs, thanks to Ashleigh Gardner’s 86 not out off 52 balls. The right hand bat smashed half a dozen boundaries and five sixes during her innings. Together with Nicole Bolton (38 not out off 24 balls), she stitched an 87-run partnership for the third wicket in in just eight overs. Bolton plundered six boundaries and gave good support to Gardner. For Brisbane Heat, Nicole Hancock and Georgia Prestwidge accounted for one wicket each.

2nd innings Brisbane Heat 162-2 in 18.3 overs
In reply, Brisbane Heat made lightwork of the chase as they achieved the target in 18.3 overs, winning the match by eight wickets. The opening pair of Grace Harris and Georgia Redmayne put together 53 runs in 6.2 overs to lay a solid foundation. While Harris slammed 54 off 39 balls, Redmayne hit 27 off 18 balls. After the departure of Redmayne, Georgia Voll joined forces and struck a delectable 48 not out off 41 balls. Laura Kimmince played a cameo muscling 23 not out off 15 balls. For Sydney Sixers, Radha Yadav was the lone wicket-taker as she got rid of Harris in the 13th over.

Sydney Sixers’ Ashleigh Gardner won the player of the match for her stellar batting performance of 86 not out off 52 balls.
