Toss – Won by Sydney Thunder Women and elected to bat first

1st Innings Summary – After a delayed start due to rain, Sydney Thunder openers Rachel Priest and Rachael Haynes came out to bat. The rain came back after 2.4 overs and the match was reduced to fourteen overs each side. The trio of Rachael Haynes, Harmanpreet Kaur and captain Alex Blackwell played some good shots and tried to maximize the score in reduced overs. Rain had quite an adverse effect on Melbourne Stars bowlers as they gave away eighteen extra runs in just ten overs. Soon after the 10th over, the showers returned once again reducing the match to ten over each side and later forcing the umpires to abandon the match.

Brief scorecard:

Sydney Thunder Women – 92/3 (10 overs)

Melbourne Stars Women – Didn’t bat

Result – No result due to rain
