1st Innings Summary – Making a very slow start, Sydney Sixers managed to score only 25 runs in first six overs of batting powerplay. But when you have Ellyse Perry as your skipper, turnaround is not a big deal. Perry played another masterpiece innings of 103* in just 64 balls and proved why she is one of the greatest female cricketers in the world. Ashleigh Gardner, on the other hand, showed great level of maturity and stayed firmly on the other end to support her captain. As a result of this, Sydney Sixers were able to put up a highly competitive total before the opponents.
2nd Innings Summary – For Brisbane Heat, opener Beth Mooney and in-form batter Sammy-Jo Johnson made vital contributions. Also, Jess Jonassen was going well just when she got run out at the most crucial time of the innings. This was probably the turning point of the match as Laura Wolvaardt and Laura Harris could not save the game despite of their brave fight in death overs. Erin Burns bowled brilliantly and took two wickets and conceding just nine runs in two overs.
Player of the match – Ellyse Perry for her phenomenal century which included ten 4s and five 6s.
