Toss – Won by Melbourne Renegades Women and elected to bowl first

1st Innings Summary – Put into bat first, Perth Scorchers were too much defensive in their approach after losing both the openers within first five overs. So much so that the highest run-scorer of the team, Heather Graham struck only two 4s in her 42-run innings. This clearly shows the level of pressure built up by the bowlers on the batting side as the trio of Sophie Molineux, Molly Strano and Georgia Wareham bowled their full quota of four overs at an economy rate of less than six runs per over. Consequently, a very low total was put up by Perth Scorchers and now they needed some magical bowling effort to save the match.

2nd Innings Summary – Defending a small total, the bowling side gave away twelve extra runs to Melbourne Renegades, making it easier for them to reach the target. Opener Danielle Wyatt, Jessica Duffin and captain Amy Satterthwaite played their role well and made required contributions to secure an easy win for their team.
