Following Netherlands’ win in the opener and persistent rain resulting in the 2nd ODI being abandoned without a ball being bowled, the series is well and truly alive heading into the 3rd and final One-Day International (ODI). The series decider is scheduled to take place at VRA Ground, Amstelveen, on the 7th of July, 2023, at 2:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

In the opening ODI, Netherlands had valuable contributions from skipper Heather Siegers (35) and Robine Rijke, who played brilliant innings of 83 runs. The lower-middle order and tailenders added 63 crucial runs, allowing them to post a competitive total of 204. In response, Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham played an anchor role with a fine score of 65. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, and Thailand was eventually bowled out for 147. This historic win marked Netherlands’ first-ever win since regaining ODI status.

Heather hasn’t had the best of starts to her series, however, has looked promising during her brief stays. Heather’s knack of picking wickets is evident from her bagging 18 wickets in 20 innings, in T20Is.

Robine Rijke

The 26-year-old all-rounder, in ODIs, in 8 outings has scored 142 runs and bagged 5 wickets in 3 innings. Robine’s respective best figures of 83 and 3/30 had both come in the series opener and will be banked on to deliver the goods in the decider.

Nannapat Khoncharoenkai

The 22-year-old keeper-batter has got off to notable starts but has failed to convert them. Nannapat in 5 ODI appearances has scored 101 runs, including the highest of 30* at an average of 25.25. She yet again failed to convert her start, having departed for 25 runs in the opener.

Nattaya Boochatham

The 36-year-old spin all-rounder, in 7 ODI outings has scored 58 runs and struck 9 wickets at an economy rate of 2.78. More runs of Nattaya’s blade can be expected, while with the ball had the right start registering figures of 2/25.

Pitch:

The 22-yard strip at VRA Ground, Amstelveen, pleases the bowlers, particularly the pacers, and presents difficulties for the batters. The spin-friendly conditions result in an average score in the 150s, requiring batters to exhibit discipline to achieve a competitive total.
