Match 13: Group B: Netherlands Vs Zimbabwe (Tolerance Oval)

Sterre Kalis, Babette de Leede, and Robine Rijke shone with the bat before a clinical performance from the bowlers gave the Netherlands a comfortable victory over Zimbabwe

The Netherlands skipper Heather Siegers won the toss and opted to bat first. The Netherlands got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of Irish Zwilling on the 2nd ball of the innings courtesy of a run-out. Wicket-keeper batter Babette de Leede joined Sterre Kalis at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 71-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, staging a solid recovery by the Dutch.

Sharne Mayers rolled her arm over to dismiss the wicket-keeper batter Babette de Leede to provide the much-needed breakthrough for Zimbabwe. Robine Rijke joined Sterre Kalis at the crease and the duo failed to carry the momentum as they lost the wicket of Sterre Kalis in the 15th over of the innings. Francisca Chipare provided the 3rd breakthrough for her side.

The Netherlands eventually ended up with a total of 135/6 in their quota of overs. Robine Rijke (39 off 25 balls), Babette de Leede (37 off 40 balls), and Sterre Kalis (34 off 37 balls) were the top performers with the bat for the Netherlands. Chasing a target of 136, Zimbabwe got off to a poor start as they found themselves struggling at 36/4 in the 8th over of the run chase. Josephine Nkomo joined opening batter Modester Mupachikwa at the crease and the duo failed to take their side over the line despite an unbeaten 85-run 5th wicket partnership. The Netherland bowlers managed to hold their nerve as they clinched the game by 14 runs against Zimbabwe.

The Netherlands wicket-keeper batter Babette de Leede was awarded the Player of the Match courtesy of her crucial contribution (37 off 40 balls) with the bat. She also took one catch behind the stumps to dismiss Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano.

Match 14: Group A: Sri Lanka Vs Uganda (Abu Dhabi)

The Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and opted to bat first. Sri Lanka got off to a good start as the openers Vishmi Gunaratne and skipper Chamari Athapaththu put together a 50-run opening stand. Uganda skipper Janet Mbabazi picked up the wicket of the opposition skipper Chamari Athapaththu to provide the first breakthrough for Uganda.

Harshitha Samarawickrama soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Uganda. Hasini Perera joined Vishmi Gunaratne at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 65-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Rita Musamali picked up the wicket of Hasini Perera to provide the 3rd breakthrough for her side. Kavisha Dilhari soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 4th breakthrough for Uganda.

Sri Lanka eventually ended up with a total of 154/4 in their quota of overs. Vishmi Gunaratne (73 off 64 balls), Hasini Perera (30 off 24 balls), and skipper Chamari Athapaththu (24 off 21 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Sri Lanka. Concy Aweko (4-0-12-0), Ritu Musamali (4-0-32-1), and skipper Janet Mbabazi (2-0-19-1) were the top performers with the ball for Zimbabwe.

Chasing a target of 155, the Uganda openers Immaculate Nakisuuyi and skipper Janet Mbabazi got off to a steady start before they lost the wicket of their skipper Janet Mbabazi courtesy of a run-out. Uganda suffered a collapse as they lost their next four wickets for just 17 runs and found themselves in deep trouble at 33/5 in the 10th over of the run chase.

Phiona Kulume joined Prosscovia Alako at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 26-run partnership for the 6th wicket before Phiona Kulume was found short of her crease to provide the 6th breakthrough for Sri Lanka. Uganda were eventually bundled out for 87 with four balls to spare, courtesy of another collapse. They lost their last four wickets for just 28 runs, falling short of the target by 67 runs.

Prosscovia Alako (36 off 32 balls), skipper Janet Mbabazi (14 off 12 balls), and Sarah Walaza (10 off 8 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Uganda. Inoka Ranaweera (3-0-10-2), Shashini Gimhani (4-1-23-2), skipper Chamari Athapaththu (3-0-5-1), and Kawya Kavindi (3-0-16-1) were the top performers with the ball for Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan opening batter Vishmi Gunaratne was awarded the Player of the Match for her match-winning performance (73 off 64 balls) with the bat.

Match 15: Group B: Ireland Vs Vanuatu (Tolerance Oval)

Ireland pacers rattle Vanuatu before openers make light work of the run chase to seal a thumping 9-wicket victory

Ireland skipper Laura Delany won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first Vanuatu got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of Rachel Andrew in the 3rd over of the innings. Ava Canning provided the first breakthrough for Ireland. Nasimana Navaika joined Valenta Langiatu at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 49-run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Arlene Kelly cleaned up Valenta Langiatu to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Ireland.

Vanuatu suffered a horrible collapse as they lost their next seven wickets for just 30 runs. Valenta Langiatu (27 off 31 balls), Nasimana Navaika (19 off 28 balls), and skipper Selina Solman (12 off 19 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Vanuatu. Eimear Richardson (4-1-8-3), skipper Laura Delany (3-0-10-2), Ava Canning (3-0-9-1), and Arlene Kelly (3-0-15-2) were the top performers with the ball for Ireland.

Chasing a target of 89, the Ireland openers Gaby Lewis and wicket-keeper batter Amy Hunter almost shot down the target without being separated. However, they lost the wicket of Gaby Lewis on the brink of victory. Nasimana Navaika provided the first breakthrough for Vanuatu. Ireland eventually managed to get over the line with nine wickets in hand and with 45 balls to spare.

Thailand spinners leave the USA clueless before the batters make short work of the run chase to clinch a dominating victory

Thailand skipper Naruemol Chaiwai won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first, the USA got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers inside the powerplay. Pooja Ganesh joined skipper Sindhu Sriharsha at the crease and the duo stitched a 16-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Thipatcha Putthawong cleaned up Pooja Ganesh to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Thailand.

Aditiba Chudasama joined skipper Sindhu Sriharsha at the crease and the duo stitched an 11-run partnership for the 4th wicket before Thipatcha Putthawong picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Sindhu Sriharsha to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. The USA were eventually bundled out for 54 with 13 balls to spare. They lost their last six wickets for just 21 runs.

Isani Vaghela (15 off 22 balls), Pooja Ganesh (13 off 14 balls), and skipper Sindhu Sriharsha (10 off 15 balls) were the top performers with the bat for the USA. Thipatcha Putthawong (4-1-12-4), Onnicha Kamchomphu (4-1-4-2), and Chanida Sutthiruang (4-0-15-2) were the top performers with the ball for Thailand.

Chasing a target of 55, Thailand got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of Nattaya Boochatham on the first ball of the run chase for a golden duck. Geetika Kodali provided the first breakthrough for the USA. Skipper Naruemol Chaiwai joined wicket-keeper batter Nannapat Koncharoenkai at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with an unbeaten 56-run 2nd wicket partnership to seal a thumping 9-wicket victory against the USA with 64 balls to spare.

Geetika Kodlai (2-0-13-1) was the top performer with the ball for the USA. The 20-year-old left-arm spinner from Thailand, Thipatcha Putthawong was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational spell (4-1-12-4) with the ball for her side. She played a pivotal role in helping her side complete a thrashing victory against the USA.
